This place is a community gem. The only food bank in metro Detroit that is 100% kosher certified. Run entirely by volunteers I believe. They are dedicated and work hard and will usually go the extra mile to serve the clients. Good to know: Must sign up with them first. They have weird hours and are closed on Jewish holidays so make sure you check before you come. You can only come once a month but they really hook you up, it’s not like other food banks that give out mostly non perishables. The items they distribute vary by availability but include chicken, ground beef, cheese, baked goods from bakery, eggs, toilet paper and household goods, baby items like formula and diapers plus various produce items and non perishables.

Very grateful, after not receiving all of my pay from my last job and unexpected resignation. I fell on the need for groceries. Despite me being a believer of God and Jesus (as I understand the organization is of a different denomination) they aided me at the last minute. I’m extremely grateful for it as well!

This food bank supports people who need food. Placed my order. The only complaint is I told them I didn't want certain foods, and they still gave me what I didn't want. So I gave the foods to people who needed it. Very nice people, friendly and professional. I appreciate what they do.

Really healpfull staff, and accomodating different food options. I found they really met my needs after my house burned down. They provided Kosher groceries to help my needs--- I am a single Jewish Mother on a budget and I keep Kosher in the home!!! It is very expensive, but with the help of YE, it is possible!!! They offer Passover packages as well as Kosher meat and non-perishable items. They also offer produce at the end of the summer. Yad Ezra also has sister programs that not only help with food but also counceling, and job seeker help. There was a person here reached out to another program (Excel/Word class for an adult education classes in Oak Park.) They helped with a resume and the computer classes were free!!! This place is amazing!

They are a wonderful kosher food pantry in this state. They don't turn anyone away for one time help, but refer them to other food pantry resources. Dedicated, kind and friendly people. Their Giving Gardens are fabulous, with clients being the recipients of all sorts of fruits & vegetables throughout the summer. Anyone is welcome to volunteer there, you don't need to be Jewish. Yad Ezra believes in common humanity and helping to feed people.
